The event brought together over 100 local and international participants in a hybrid format. The conference featured pre-conference workshops, scientific oral and poster presentations, and plenary sessions that addressed key public health themes, including infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, neglected tropical diseases, and health systems.
Part of the conference was dedicated to the first general assembly and executive elections of the newly registered Zambia Field Epidemiology Alumni Network (ZAFENET).
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with AFENET, CDC, UKHSA, and ZNPHI, commended Zambia FETP’s contributions to outbreak investigations, health workforce development, and global health security. The conference provided a platform for skills building, knowledge sharing, professional networking, and recognition of outstanding alumni work. It reaffirmed the importance of FETP in strengthening Zambia’s public health response and preparedness.
